ASCLS-ID PRESIDENT POSITION DESCRIPTION

1. PURPOSE

    • Provide leadership, direction, and motivation for society

2. TERM OF OFFICE

    • 1 year with 1 year as president-elect and 1 year as past-president

3. QUALIFICATIONS

    • ASCLS Professional or Emeritus membership
    • Recommended experience: Knowledge of organization (previous office or committee work), ability to delegate

4. DUTIES

    • Member of all committees, appoints all committee chairs, member of the House of Delegates, Region VIII council, Set Board meetings and conduct
    • Other duties performed: Take delegation to National convention with credentials, give out awards, and provide recommendations for appointment to National Committees

5. EXPECTATIONS

    • Meeting Attendance: Attend State, Regional, and National meetings as possible
    • Reports: Submit reports to the Region
    • Deadlines: As determined by ASCLS or activities
    • Average time commitment: Significant and variable
    • Travel: Board meetings and conventions
    • Financial considerations: Convention attendance

    • Mentors: Past-president, Board members, and National office
    • Materials: Computer, stationery
    • Helpful Hints and Suggestions: Learn to delegate and stay in constant communications with Board members and Committee Chairs
