ASCLS-ID PRESIDENT POSITION DESCRIPTION
1. PURPOSE
-
- Provide leadership, direction, and motivation for society
2. TERM OF OFFICE
-
- 1 year with 1 year as president-elect and 1 year as past-president
3. QUALIFICATIONS
-
- ASCLS Professional or Emeritus membership
- Recommended experience: Knowledge of organization (previous office or committee work), ability to delegate
4. DUTIES
-
- Member of all committees, appoints all committee chairs, member of the House of Delegates, Region VIII council, Set Board meetings and conduct
- Other duties performed: Take delegation to National convention with credentials, give out awards, and provide recommendations for appointment to National Committees
5. EXPECTATIONS
-
- Meeting Attendance: Attend State, Regional, and National meetings as possible
- Reports: Submit reports to the Region
- Deadlines: As determined by ASCLS or activities
- Average time commitment: Significant and variable
- Travel: Board meetings and conventions
- Financial considerations: Convention attendance

- Materials: Computer, stationery
- Helpful Hints and Suggestions: Learn to delegate and stay in constant communications with Board members and Committee Chairs
