Robert Thomas, BAS, MLS(ASCP) – Emmett
President-Elect of ASCLS-Idaho and as Assistant Laboratory Manager at Valor Health in Emmett, Idaho. He believes that education, community involvement, advocacy, and volunteer service are essential to building stronger professions and healthier communities. Throughout his career, Robert has been driven by a desire to share knowledge, remove barriers, and help others succeed. His leadership philosophy is rooted in service, collaboration, and lifelong learning. He views professional titles and credentials not as achievements unto themselves, but as opportunities to contribute, advocate, and create meaningful change. In addition to his work in rural healthcare, Robert is pursuing an MBA through the University of the People and participates in leadership development initiatives focused on strengthening healthcare in underserved communities. He has also served as a Guardian ad Litem in Idaho, advocating for the best interests of children within the court system. As President-Elect of ASCLS-Idaho, Robert looks forward to supporting laboratory professionals across the state, fostering engagement within the profession, and helping ensure the laboratory’s voice remains strong in healthcare. His passion lies in connecting people, sharing knowledge, and building a stronger future for the laboratory profession through education, advocacy, and service.
