Message from the President:

O
n a state level, you will notice the same individuals being rotated through various leadership positions. It is one of my goals this year to reach out to every member of ASCLS - Idaho and ask him or her to step up to the needs of the society as a whole. If one person could spend just a little time each year to help out with an activity or bring someone new into our society, a sense of responsibility and accomplishment would develop. Do you remember when we use to talk about the 21st century where things would all be automated and life would just run by itself? Well, here we are, seven years in, and technology has changed, but there is still a need for motivated professionals like yourselves to lead the way in how ASCLS will affect the future of health care. So, in closing, I am asking you to contribute your time, financial support, and voice so that we all can make a difference, because in the end, we are all in this together!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Street

We moved to Idaho in 1994 and I began working at St. Luke's. I am currently a Chemistry and Immunology and Point of Care technologist and I get to teach new employees and work with our ISU CLS students. I find that very gratifying!
I have been a member of ASCLS-Idaho for several years. During that time I have been involved in the planning of four spring conventions. It is very gratifying to see hard work pay off with a successful, well-attended convention. I have been a two-year Board Member, and this year, I am our society's Secretary and Government Affairs Chair. I value the opportunity ASCLS - Idaho provides me to associate with my peers throughout our state and our country. I have the greatest respect for my fellow laboratory professionals and I am proud to work in a profession that directly participates in quality patient care.
