ASCLS - Idaho Focus
Letter from the Editor:
I hope you have enjoyed this issue featuring the convention last April. Thanks to everyone who submitted articles, information and photographs! I finally had to stop because this issue just kept growing!  As I finish this issue, I find myself reflecting on all that has happened over the past year. I have learned to belly dance, learned new computer skills, graduated my oldest son from high school and celebrated his 18th birthday , celebrated my 47th birthday, and taken on a volunteer position at my church that is teaching me more than I every really  wanted to know about building and grounds maintenance and communicating/negotiating with diverse groups of people. I hope that the new computer skills, at least, will enable me to become even better at building the newsletter as I start my second year as editor. (The dance lessons will hopefully keep me sane!) Last issue, I decided to not email the entire newsletter but instead send an electronic notice with a link to our website to those for whom I had email addresses.  This saved me many hours of emailing as I am still on dial-up and sending the entire newsletter took hours! As a courtesy, I have been sending printed copies of the newsletter to all the Idaho hospital lab directors for them to share with their employees and also sending printed copies to those ASCLS-Idaho members for whom I only have a mailing address.  Starting this issue, I am going to send email notices with a link as before, and preprinted postcard notices with instructions on how to view the newsletter online to those members who have not provided me with an email address. Printed or direct email copies will only be sent upon request.  I will send printed copies to the hospital labs as before, but may change that next issue.  This will save me a lot of time, and further reduce printing and postage costs, while still reaching everyone.  That said, I am signing off and packing for my vacation!
