ASCLS  -  IDAHO   FOCUS

I have been employed at St. Luke’s Magic Valley (formerly Magic Valley Regional Medical Center) for the past 30 years. Over the years, I held positions of Chemistry Supervisor, Laboratory Manager, and Director of Ancillary Services. My current position is Patient Safety Officer for the organization.

I live on a small farm, 20 miles south of Twin Falls with my husband Rob, our three dogs, and one cat. My son Sean lives and works in Boise. In my relaxation time, I enjoy duplicate bridge, quilting, sketching, and hunting and fishing with my husband.

ASCLS-Idaho has been my professional network that introduced me to colleagues across Idaho, and across the United States. These colleagues have become treasured friends, and valuable contacts that have helped me throughout my career. My first activity was as Publicity Chair for the Idaho Planning Committee for the Intermountain States Seminar (IMSS). After that, I held state offices of Secretary, Newsletter Editor, and President, as well as holding many committee chair positions (Leadership, Membership, Government Affairs, Bylaws, and Professional Affairs) and State Convention Chair positions (General Chair, Program, Social, Publicity, Finance). After being active on the Region VIII Council and IMSS, I began serving in national ASCLS positions, including Nominations Committee, Chair of Leadership Development and Membership Developoment committees. I served on the ASCLS Board of Directors for six years as Region VIII Director, and as ASCLS President. Since then I have been active on the Levels of Practice task force, the Doctorate in Clinical Lab Science oversight committee, and the Patient Safety Committee. I also served as ASLCS representative to NCA, and as NCA president for the past three years.
