Medical Lab Scientists Supervisor

Position Summary:

St. Luke’s Jerome is currently accepting applications for a full time Medical Lab Scientist Supervisor, to be located at the St. Luke’s hospital in Jerome, Idaho. This position is going to a split position. 60% of the position will be in the Medical Lab Scientist role and 40% will be in a Supervisory role. Schedule/Shift: Full Time – .6 or 48 hrs/pay period as a Medical Lab Scientist, .4 or 32 hrs/pay period as a Pathology Supervisor.

As a MLS, you will be responsible for performing routine tests, under limited supervision, in clinical laboratories for use in treatment and diagnosis of diseases. The Medical Lab Scientist follows laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements. The scientist follows department policy maintaining all necessary records and documentation. Ensures input is accurate and complete. A limited degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Minimum Requirements include:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a college or university.
  2. Registry or registry eligible for MLS (ASCP). Must take ASCP exam within six months of hire date and obtain registry within twelve (12) months of hire date.
  3. Ability and willingness to demonstrate and maintain competency as required for job title and the unit/area(s) of assignment.
